Not my favourite of his but it still has the power to make me worry about the characters and care about what happens to them.
It took me a week to read part one, which was quite enjoyable, and then it took me seven months to wade through the horribly boring and contrived plot of part two. The characters seemed flat, and I found Koontz's ideas of time, time travel, universe and fate completely unconvincing.
This is one of those memorable books that is certainly one of Koontz's best.
